Lucas Almonte, Esq.

Lucas Almonte is a New York–licensed attorney, Certified Player Agent at the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) and a Licensed Agent at Fédération Internationale de Basketball (FIBA).

Prior to founding Sonyc Sports, Lucas served as an Associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, for over five (5) years working on complex employment, compensation, employee benefits, tax, and securities matters across major corporate transactions, including Mergers & Acquisitions, IPOs, and private equity deals. With deep experience negotiating and drafting compensation, equity, and employment agreements, Lucas bring high-level contract negotiation and risk management expertise to athlete representation.

A strong advocate for equity and access, Lucas has also provided pro bono legal services to nonprofits, small businesses, asylum seekers, and families. In 2014, Lucas co-founded Uplift NYC, a 501(c)(3) organization seeking to enhance, strengthen and empower under-resourced communities throughout New York City, and Lucas has served on the Board of Directors of Uplift NYC since 2014.
